So that's 7pm on Wednesday, 1st April at KGB Bar in the East Village - and we'll also be bringing you our themed intermission literary trivia quiz with exciting prizes!  Entry to the show is free, but make sure you're there early if you want a seat... 

In the meantime, we're  currently seeking submissions for our Born & Bred show.  Stories should be between 800 and 3000 words long, unpublished, and all interpretations are welcome - the submission deadline is Thursday, 30th April. Full and recently updated submissions guidelines are available on our Submissions Page.

Announcing the lineup for Kiss & Breakup!

We had a lot of submissions for our Kiss & Breakup edition on Wednesday, 1st April at KGB Bar - we were really spoiled for choice, so a massive thank you to everyone who submitted! But we're now delighted to announce the lineup - we'll be presenting five new short stories, featuring first kisses, second-date nightmares, courtroom dramas, protective fathers, and nameless boyfriends. Welcome to the new Liars' League NYC website!

We’re very excited to welcome you to our new website, where we've made great stories easier for you to read, hear, and find. 

We've made a few changes, too. You can now find our latest announcements on our News page, you can subscribe to our email list directly from our homepage, and we've updated our Submissions Guidelines slightly to clarify some of the most common queries we receive. As before, and most importantly, you’ll find all our past stories in our Story Archive, together with recordings from the shows. Please feel free to explore – and let us know what you think! And if you're feeling nostalgic, you can look back on the past few years of our old website on our previous TypePad Site.

We’ll be announcing the lineup for our next show in a couple of weeks – so watch this space. In the meantime, our next submissions deadline is Thursday, 30th April – and the theme is Born & Bred. We’re looking forward to reading your stories! 

Time to Kiss & Breakup

Just over a week to Valentine's Day! And what better time to announce that we're currently accepting short story submissions on the theme of Kiss & Breakup?

The deadline is Saturday, 28th February, and stories can be sent via email to info@liarsleaguenyc.com - as usual, all interpretations welcome, but please see the submissions page of our website for full guidelines. Valentine's greetings also welcome!

Selected stories are published on our website, performed by actors for a live audience at New York’s KGB Bar, and podcast via the iTunes Store and Stitcher. Entry is completely free – our aim is simply to bring the very best new fiction to life for one of the most discerning literary audiences in the world.

It's a wrap!

Thanks to everyone who came out to Entrances & Exits last week!

The stories and recordings from the night are up on our website now, as well as a free podcast in the iTunes Store and on Stitcher – apart from E James Ford’s reading of Vito J Racanelli’s story “Do Days”, which will be broadcast by the BBC in the not-too-distant future! We’ll keep you posted as to exactly when that’ll be…

For the time being, a huge thanks to our writers, Vito J Racanelli, Mara Sonnenschein, Jeff Bender, Manuel Martinez, and Jax Bischof – and our actors, E James Ford, Amber Bogdewiecz, Ryan Ervin, Kate Chadwick, and Alex C Ferrill – and once again, thank you to all those of you who submitted this month.

We’re still accepting submissions for our next event in April – the theme is KISS & BREAKUP, and the deadline is Saturday, 28th February. As usual, full guidelines on our submissions page!

Liars' League NYC is one of Time Out's Best Reading Series in New York!

We couldn't ask for a better start to 2015! Liars' League NYC has been included in Time Out's latest list of New York's Best Reading Series - so thanks to Time Out's amazing Books Editor Tiffany Gibert, who just made our year - and we're only five days in! We'd urge you to check out some of the other fantastic series on the list as well - we're delighted to be in such great company.

And don't forget, we're accepting submissions for our first event of the New Year until Wednesday, 14th January - the theme is Entrances & Exits, and one story could be selected for broadcast on the BBC! Full details can be found on our website - good luck, and hope to see you at the show in February!

A very big opportunity for the New Year!

As you might be aware, we’re accepting submissions for our first show of the New Year – themed ENTRANCES & EXITS. What we’re excited to reveal is that we’re currently working with production company Heavy Entertainment, who are producing a show for BBC Radio 4 – and one of this month’s submissions could be recorded for broadcast later in 2015 in the BBC’s Short Readings slot. The writer of the broadcast story will be paid, and also reach literally millions of listeners across the world. Which is, you know, nice.

We’re accepting pieces between 800 and 3000 words long, but to be eligible for the broadcast slot (which will ultimately be selected by Heavy Entertainment from our shortlist) your story should be in the region of 2500 words, set in New York, and of course still relevant to the Entrances & Exits theme. Also, they’re looking for an USA-based writer for that slot – though all other writers will be considered for the Entrances & Exits show itself. So it’d help if you mentioned whether you’re based in the USA – stories will be judged anonymously otherwise as usual.

We’re extending the deadline even further to allow for this rather exciting opportunity – it will now be Wednesday, 14th January. Send your submissions to info@liarsleaguenyc.com – any questions, just drop us a line. Good luck!
